Public Speaking

My goal as a public speaker is to engage people around issues of civic engagement and democracy in a way that encourages them to get involved in their community and that gives them a better understanding of the history of the current trends that alarm so many.

Previously, I have spoken publicly about the state of democracy,  how Democrats can push the country forward rhetorically, civic engagement, and education (both secondary and higher). Some of the venues and shows I've spoken at or on include:

  • Seton Hall Symposium on Free Speech (where I spoke about the long history of the free speech conflicts);

  • The Michael Smerconish Show;

  • The Truth of the Matter Podcast at CSIS;

  • Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins on WFAE; and

  • The Hill School, Carver School, and The Shipley School, among others.

To get a sense of my speaking style, please feel free to list to the audio of my appearance on the Truth of the Matter or on Charlotte Talks. If you're interested in having me speak to a group or on your show, please reach out to me at j.e.piltch@gmail.com.
